Hand Knotted
Knotting is a highly specialised 2,000 year old craft of weaving that requires precision and patience. Using a vertical loom a weaver will insert tight knots by hand around the warp and weft of the rug, then cut and tie again to ensure each knot. These rugs are composed of many thousands of individual knots, requiring much skill and time. The quality and cost of a hand-knotted rug is determined by the number of knots per square inch. Our hand-knotted rugs are made
with wool sourced from New Zealand and Argentina.
